Romans 12: 1-2
12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
We must lay our fleshly body on the alter as a sacrifice unto God. We must die to ourself in order to live a life after Christ. This is our reasonable service. We are no longer our own. We must be willing to give up our fleshly desires. For the flesh lusteth against the spirit. The flesh does not want to do the things of God. Worship is not only with the lips but also with our actions.
Can you sacrifice an hour less of sleep in the morning to pray and read the word? Can you accept a lower paying job to have more time for ministry? Can you sacrifice time with friends at the beach in order to witness in the neighborhood. This is a daily lifestyle of sacrifice. Not having to tell your side of the story. Suffering for the gospels sake. Scripture tells us the servant is not greater than his master. If they hated Christ they will hate us. A living sacrifice, selfless and faithful to the will of the father as Christ has been we are to be.
Take on the mind of Christ not this world. The mind of Christ, he knew why he was here, to do the will of the father. Give himself for all mankind becoming the sacrifice for our sins. He accepted and completed the assignment. We can not get side tracked with all the bells and whistles this life has to offer and put the work of the kingdom on the back burner. The world says treat them how they treat you. Jesus says love them as you love yourself. We must be willing to set our personal dreams and goals aside for the goals Christ has for our lives. We must sacrifice our thoughts and ways and follow the leading of the Holy Ghost. A living sacrifice to a dying world, who needs a savior that now lives in us and his name is Jesus Christ. That's who others should see in you not on Sunday only but daily.
