Philippians 4:11-12
11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
We often speak of knowing how to be in need or going without when we read this verse but most of us have had our share of suffering and lack. So much so we find it to be the norm and have learned how to adjust, adapt and be content in it. Me personally I have no problem trusting the Lord in seasons of lack. It seems harder now to accept the good things that happen in life almost as if nothing good is suppose to happen. I seem to be in a state of expecting something to go wrong in times of abundance. That the joy I'm experiencing is to good to be true. On edge waiting for something bad to happen.
It is the Lord’s will that we learn to trust, lean and depend upon Him for security, assurance and sufficiency in ALL things. Contentment or satisfaction is a learned behavior that comes through repetition, which teaches us how not to be controlled by our circumstances but by the Word of God through the leading of His Holy Spirit. Which explains why you may be discontent in your season of abundance. Your not use to abounding. It is a learned process and some times a difficult one that produces the fruit of the Spirit of God within us as we are learning to be content. Paul learned this through having a personal relationship with Christ that took his faith to a level of believing he was able to do ALL things through Christ who strengthen him. It wasn't about who he was or his capabilities but whose he was.
Discontentment in your season of abounding(growing & glowing) is a trick of the enemy. He desires no good thing for any of us. When the Lord tells you we will do greater works than these believe him. He is able to do great things through you. YES, you so learn to have faith in his word. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. The Lord desires for you to have joy 🤩 unspeakable joy in whatever state you are in. Believe it!!!
