The Mind Of Christ

Philippians 2:5

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Humility, self sacrifice and compassion in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, things that only benefit you but every man also on the things of others. We should be concerned about the needs of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus'.

There are people from different walks of life in many fellowships some are successful in their careers while others are not. Some have been in Christ a long time, while others are babes in Christ. If believers in such a diverse environment do not have a servant mindset, there would be strife and vainglory, pride could set in as everyone thinks that he is better than the others!

The only way for you to fellowship well with others is to deny yourself any thought that you are better than anyone else. In lowliness of mind think of yourself as being nothing more than a lowly servant. Jesus Himself said, 'If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.' (Mark 9:35). When you have this servant mindset you will automatically regard others to be better than yourself (Philippians 2:3).

You will give less thought for yourself, and more thought for others. Whatever your status in life may be, you will regard every brother or sister in the body of Christ as being important. It does not matter if the person is less qualified or less mature than you. Every soul that is worth the death of Christ should be worth you dying to yourself for there good as well. 

As this mindset controls your attitude toward others, you should see a change in how you respond to others. You will become more like Christ, giving and accommodating. You will be more willing to see things from viewpoints other than your own. When you have a servant mindset you will be willing to serve rather than to be served. You will not mind going the extra mile to help others, even if it means that you may have to suffer some inconvenience

for it.

You will not mind doing things that most people consider as unpleasant or beneath them. Think of how Christ stooped down to wash the dirty feet of His disciples, and ask yourself what you can do for others. Check the posture of your heart would you be willing to wash the feet of your neighbor?

Lord help me to be more considerate of my brother and sisters. To put their needs above my own. Help me to have the heart of a servant and to put on the mind of Christ. In Jesus Name Amen 🙏🏽
