2 Timothy 4: 3-5
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
Because of the lust of the flesh of men, people will begin to follow doctrines that allow them to do the things they want to do and still claim to be a christian. People will prefer teachers that tell them what they want to hear over what they need to hear, sound doctrine, correction, and rebuke. They will follow prosperity over the suffering way of Christ.
They would rather be pacified with an encouraging word over a warning to come out of their sins. Carnal theatrics over life giving scripture. Song and dance over sound teaching. Just make us laugh and feel good. Not desire to turn from sin and live a life unto Christ.
Some may have turned away their ears from the truth but you, Preach the word be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage with great patience and careful instructions. Preach the gospel when it is easy and when it is hard. When they listen and when they don't, when it is accepted and when it's not.
The more people despise the word of God the harder you should go forth preaching it. Be watchful, vigilant, satan goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. This walk comes with afflictions, we must endure while teaching them to observe whatsoever Christ has commanded us and know he is with you always, even unto the end of the world.
