A Lack Of Power

Acts 1: 8

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Do you know what makes you want to be a witness for Jesus the power of the Holy Ghost.

John 15:26“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:” The Holy Ghost within you gives you a desire to tell of the goodness of Jesus. You will have a hunger to follow the commandment of Christ to go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in.

After being filled with the Holy Ghost you will desire to live a life that will testify of him. The level of self-control you have will testify of him. The level of kindness, the level of forgiveness and the love you show one towards another will testify of him. The Holy Ghost gives you the power to do good and not evil. The power to kick bad habits, and bad company.

Whereas we did not have the will power to turn from our sins and wicked ways as much as we desired to do the right thing we just couldn't. The comforter has now come we no longer have to try and do it on our own. We CAN do it in the power of the Holy Ghost which is given to them who ask.
